Hong Kong Disneyland - The Hotels
Hong Kong Disneyland has 3 official hotels on site, all of which offer something different. Each has their own twist on the classic Disney magic, with superb service and comfort.
All are within walking distance to the park, but have a bus service if you prefer, and so it makes a break at the resort really easy and relaxing and creates that Disney bubble.
On this page we’ve provided a brief summary of each of the hotels to try and provide a flavour of what to expect and how they differ. We’ve also included a link at the bottom of the page to our full review of the Disneyland Hotel on our Youtube channel.
Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel
The Disneyland Hotel is a seaside-themed resort, very much akin to the Grand Floridian in Orlando or perhaps the Disneyland hotel in Paris. Like these hotels it’s inspired by Victorian Elegance and has a luxurious atmosphere with a beautiful lobby 6 stories high, with chandeliers and live music. It’s very much the signature hotel on site.
Rooms
The Disneyland Hotel offers standard rooms, deluxe rooms and various suites. None of these sleep more than 4 people so if you’re in a larger group you’ll need to book multiple rooms (connecting rooms are available). Standard and deluxe rooms are available with sea views and/or balconies. These have a classic elegant feel with a slight Disney twist. There are then also a number of different suites available which do look pretty special - the Cinderella suite, Kingdom Club room, Frozen suite, Roy O Disney suite and the Walt Disney suite.
Rooms can obviously be booked as cash but DVC points are also an option if you’re a DVC member. We booked our room using our points. This was a tad pricey at 32 points per night, but its only a little more than some of the top resorts in Florida so it’s worth considering.
Dining
All of the options at the hotel are higher-end and relatively pricey but there are some amazing dining experiences on offer. The hotel is notably missing a cheaper ‘quick-service’ option but the other hotels are relatively close so there’s always something available.
Crystal Lotus
Experience amazing Chinese cuisine and sample the famous dim sum .
Don’t miss the special Disney themed dim sum, offered on certain days of the week unless pre-booked.
Enchanted Garden Restaurant
Garden inspired buffet restaurant - this is probably the most ‘family friendly’ of the dining options at the hotel.
Offers a variety of cuisines including western food for breakfast and lunch.
Also offers a character meal - again the only option in the hotel.
Walt’s Cafe
Victorian themed restaurant, paying tribute to Walt Disney.
International menu, with a semi-buffet offering in the evenings, as well as an afternoon-tea option.
Grand Salon
Opportunity to enjoy an amazing afternoon tea, or just some cocktails. This is finer dining so probably not generally aimed at families.
Beautiful location though in a stately room overlooking the hotel gardens.
Sea Breeze Bar
Poolside bar and the only ‘quick service’ option (other than room service) at the hotel.
Offers snacks and light meals as well as signature cocktails.
Pool & Amenities
Perhaps the best selection of hotel entertainment offerings we’ve ever experienced - and a fantastic pool as well - you’ll never be short of things to do.
Pools: Beautiful pool with plenty of seating as well as cabanas. It also has a 40m long slide and a whirlpool. There’s an indoor pool too if the weather isn’t great.
Mickey Maze: A classic garden maze (chest height only so you don’t get too lost).
Children’s playground: Located next to the pool, an excellent play area for the kids.
Mini golf: Again located next to the pool, a couple of holes of golf to keep you entertained.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique: Classic Disney offering for little ones to be transformed into princes and princesses.
Gym, sauna and steam room: Plenty on offer to exercise or relax as much as you want.
Sports courts: The opportunity for a game of tennis or other games - whatever floats your boat!
Shopping: An excellent on site store selling a range of Disney merch as well as some bits and pieces you may have forgotten to pack!
Recreation activities / Children’s activity centre: And finally so many activities it’ll make your heads spin - including children’s storytime, Tai Chi with Mickey, movies on the lawn, firework viewing packages, go-karting, craft and souvenir workshops, sports days and treasure hunts. Disney really go out of their way to give their guests a magical and unforgettable stay!
Adventures x Paradise Review
We stayed here in October 2024 and were blown away by the beauty and comfort at this hotel. It really was a magical stay and opened our eyes to this being a resort rather than just a theme park hotel. We really could see ourselves staying here for 5 days, even with just the one theme park, simply because there is so much to do in the hotel and it has such a lovely pool area. The rooms were incredibly well done and comfortable and we are so glad we chose to stay here. Being the ‘headline’ hotel it really lives up to its reputation and we’d recommend a stay here to anyone. It is similar in both appearance and service to the Grand Floridian Resort in Orlando.
Disney Explorers Lodge
The Explorers Lodge in Hong Kong is a beautifully themed hotel, reminiscent of the Animal Kingdom Lodge in Florida. This hotel offers an adventurous atmosphere with decor inspired by exploration, be it Asia, South America or Africa. You can enjoy lush gardens, excellent themed dining options, and loads of activities in keeping with the adventurous spirit of the lodge.
Rooms
Similar to the Disneyland Hotel, the Explorers Lodge offers standard rooms, deluxe rooms and suites. Again none of these sleep more than 4 people so if you’re in a larger group you’ll need to book multiple rooms (connecting rooms are available). Standard and deluxe rooms are available with sea views and/or balconies. There are then also Adventurer suites available which do look amazing - but not the same breadth of suites available as the Disneyland Hotel.
Dining
A slightly better mix of dining options in our opinion, when compared to the Disneyland Hotel. This hotel felt slightly more family friendly from this respect, while still offering amazing dining experiences.
Dragon Wind
Authentic Chinese cuisine with a great range of dishes available, including Disney themed custard buns.
Also offers a character meal option to meet your favourite friends!
World of Colour restaurant
International menu so there’s something for everyone’s tastes, offered breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Also offers a Duffy and Friends themed afternoon tea.
Chart Room Cafe
The main ‘quick service’ option on site, this cafe offers smaller more casual meals.
Also a great option for a drink or a coffee if you want a lazy evening.
Dreamer’s Lookout
Offers amazing cocktails (particularly whiskey cocktails) and Disney themed sweet treats.
Again a nice spot to take a load off and relax.
Pool and Amenities
Another fantastic array of hotel entertainment offerings - not quite at the same level as the Disneyland Hotel but still pretty special.
Pools: Fantastic raindrop pool overlooking the South China Sea. Again plenty of seating but no slide and no indoor pool so you are at the mercy of the weather.
Gardens: 4 distinctly themed gardens to explore; Kevin Garden, the South American garden; Little Squirt Garden, the Oceania garden; Hathi Jr. Garden the Asian garden and the Rafiki Garden, the African Savannah garden. Look out for nods to the different characters as you wander.
Nemo’s Recreation Reef: A superb playroom and kids area that will keep the little ones entertained for hours.
Recreation activities: And finally, like the Disneyland hotel, just loads and loads of extra activities on offer to make your stay a magical one!
Adventures x Paradise Review
We only visited rather than stayed here so can’t review this hotel in full, but have heard brilliant things from our friends. The Explorers Lodge doesn’t quite pack the same punch as the Disneyland Hotel in terms of entertainment offerings, but is a fantastic option that has that has a wonderful adventurous theme and tonnes of Disney magic. This hotel has a really similar feel to Animal Kingdom Lodge and I know a lot of people love it and choose to stay here for this reason.

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel
Disney's Hollywood Hotel offers guests a taste of the glitz and glamour with its Art Deco design and vibrant Hollywood-themed decor. The hotel features loads of Marvel theming, which is a great novelty and loads of fun for any Marvel fans. As with the other hotels there are a variety of dining options, and a large pool so plenty for an enjoyable stay. Generally the cheapest of the three hotels, this is a great option to stay in the Disney magic.
Rooms
Similar to the other hotels, the Hollywood Hotel offers standard rooms and deluxe rooms, with a seaview option, but no balconies and no suites. They do however offer different room theming with your choice of a Marvel themed room or a Mickey themed room - these seem to come as standard so you’re guaranteed a fun filled room. Once again none of these sleep more than 4 people so if you’re in a larger group you’ll need to book multiple rooms (connecting rooms are available).
Dining
The Hollywood Hotel has the fewest number of dining options out of the three hotels but still has some pretty great options.
The Archivist
A more sophisticated option, yet with loads of Marvel artifacts and references around the room!
Amazing tapas and western food, so a great option all around for the family.
Ink and Plate
A brilliant international buffet, celebrating Disney animation.
Also offers a character meal option so a second great option for the family.
Pool and Amenities
Another fantastic array of hotel entertainment offerings - probably slightly better than the Explorers Lodge with some extra offerings for kids and families.
Pools: Amazing keyboard piano themed pool with a brilliant slide made to look like a mountain peak from a movie. Again plenty of seating but no indoor pool so avoid the wet season!
Photo Opportunities: Take pictures in front of your favourite streets and landmarks as you stroll the courtyard, as well as taking in the artwork that’s dotted all around the hotel.
Children’s Playground: A fantastic play area to keep the little ones entertained.
Disney Movies at ‘Drive-in’ Movie Theatre: Catch Disney classics at the on-site movie theatre.
Recreation Activities and Children’s Activity Centre: Once again, as per the other hotels, there are loads of extra activities on offer to make it a brilliant and fun filled stay.
Adventures x Paradise Review
We haven’t personally stayed here so can’t review per say, but the hotel and in particular the Marvel aspects look amazing. The Hollywood Hotel perhaps feels the most geared towards young families, both in terms of cost and overall offering, with the themed rooms, themed dining and extra little offerings. Definitely one to try one day!
