Disney's Old Key West Resort
Disney's Old Key West Resort
Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a Deluxe Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Resort. It offers a relaxed, tropical atmosphere inspired by the laid back charm of the Florida Keys.
It was the first ever DVC resort and uses pastel colours and palm trees to bring the laid-back island vibe to Disney.
Paradise Falls Family are so proud to call this gorgeous resort their DVC home!
Rooms
Disney’s Old Key West Resort offers deluxe studios, one bedroom villas, two bedroom villas and three bedroom grand villas.
The studios are some of the most spacious on all of Disney property. They are known for being really spacious and efficiently designed (some of the newer DVC properties are much smaller). There is no 5th sleeper bed here (so only sleep 4) but have 2 queen beds (rather than 1 bed and 1 pull out couch like most DVC studios).
The one bedroom villa sleeps 5 and features a king bed in a master bedroom along with a queen sleeper sofa and twin pull out chair in the living room. They have a full kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and full sized fridge along with a washer and dryer. They also feature a large bathroom with a relaxing whirlpool tub.
The two bedroom villa sleeps 9 and has all of the above but with an additional bedroom (with 2 queen beds). The three bedroom grand villa sleeps 12 and has a huge two story layout with a massive dining room and full dining table along with three bathrooms. This is a great option for larger families or groups.
Dining
Old Key West doesn’t have a huge array of dining options but we really enjoy the options here and find they fit the resort’s relaxed vibe really well.
Olivia’s Café (Table Service Restaurant)
Home-style comfort food with a Key West twist. One of the only Disney restaurants where brunch is served daily (to 2pm).
Specialities here include Banana Bread French Toast and the Southernmost Buttermilk Chicken.
Outdoor seating is also available here with waterfront views.
Good’s Food to Go (Quick Service)
Casual grab-and-go stand with burgers, sandwiches, drinks and snacks available.
Located close to the main pool so it’s perfect to grab lunch when having a pool day.
Gurgling Suitcase Libations & Spirits (Pool Bar)
Cosy little Key-West style bar with tropical cocktails. Indoor seating available too which is rare for a Disney pool bar.
If you are hungry, you can also eat from the brunch and dinner menus from nearby Olivia’s Café too!
Turtle Shack Poolside Snacks (Quick Service)
Open from around 11:30am to 7pm - this offers food such as pizza, sandwiches and salads along with drinks, beers and wine.
A great place to hang out with a shuffleboard court and game room here too!

Pools and Amenities
As Old Key West is a DVC resort, it has a lot of amenities designed for relaxation and to suit longer stays where people may not be in the theme parks as much!
Sandcastle Pool: This is a great pool with a 125 ft waterslide through a giant sandcastle! It has a whirlpool spa and kids pool with an interactive water play area. There is also tonnes of poolside activities offered throughout the day such as trivia, dance parties and bingo!
There are also three separate quiet pools spread throughout this large resort. These are more relaxed and generally less crowded and can be found at Out Point, Old Turtle Pond and Miller’s Road.
Recreation activities available at this resort include a golf course, fitness centre, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. You can also rent bikes, electric boats and book onto fishing excursions here too along with either jogging or walking along the scenic trails that go throughout the resort.
Conch Flats Community Hall is a great place to hang out with board games, crafts, video games and foosball available. They also offer campfire activities (free marshmallows available for toasting) and Movies Under the Stars.

Transportation
This is a large resort so includes an internal bus system which transports guests within the property. It also includes direct buses to all 4 theme parks and Disney Springs.
Another option for travel to Disney Springs is the really relaxing boat which departs every 20 minutes and takes you directly across to the dining and shopping options here via a scenic and relaxing ride along the Sassagoula River. You could also walk to Disney Springs directly and this takes around 20 minutes.

Adventures x Paradise Review
Both families love this hotel! We were always going to be bias here as one half of Adventures x Paradise have this as their DVC Home Resort and we really feel allll of the Welcome Home vibes when we arrive here! The rooms are a really good size and the kids all love the swimming pool and slide here. It is a brilliant place to relax and recharge with the Key West island style vibes and feels so far away from the busy park crowds. Drawbacks here are that it isn’t that close to any of the four theme parks and all need to be accessed by buses, but if you have a car this is a great option as it is one of the only DVC resorts where you can typically park your car right outside of your room with parking available throughout the resort.
TOP TIP - Olivia’s Café really is a hidden gem here. The food is delicious, service exceptional and it is well worth a visit even if you are not staying at this resort!
