Disney's Pop Century Resort
Disney's Pop Century Resort
Disney's Pop Century Resort is a value resort and has bold, nostalgic theming that celebrates pop culture all the way from the 1950s to the 1990s.
It combines bright colours, affordable accommodation and has skyliner access for convenient transportation!
Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts to be sister resorts as they share the same skyliner access, are located next to each other and offer similar amenities and dining options.
Rooms
Disney’s Pop Century Resort offers both standard and preferred rooms. These sleep up to 4 adults and have been recently renovated to add modern décor, wood-style flooring and Murphy beds. The rooms have 2 queen beds, one of which is a pull-down Murphy bed which gives you more room and doubles up as a table/desk area when put away.
The preferred rooms are closer to the main lobby where dining, shopping and transportation are all located.
Dining
Food Court (Quick Service)
Large cafeteria-style food court with diverse options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.. The tie-dye cheesecake is a speciality here!
Petals Pool Bar
Located next to the Hippy Dippy Pool and serves tropical cocktails, beer, wine and light snacks such as salads and sandwiches.
Pizza Delivery
You are able to order pizza delivery fresh to your room too - a great option to feed the whole family after a busy day!
Pools & Recreation
This resort has 3 different pools spread throughout the resort.
Hippy Dippy Pool (Main Pool): A large, flower shaped pool with spraying water features.
Bowling Pin Pool (1950s section): This quirky pool is shaped like a retro bowling pin.
Computer Pool (1990s section): Another heavily themed pool shape but this time shaped like an old-school computer monitor.
The resort also has an arcade, playground, nightly campfires to roast free marshmallows, and also shows outdoor movies. There are also jogging trails around the beautiful Hourglass Lake which connects to the Art of Animation Resort.
Transportation
Pop Century is located in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Resort Area. Complimentary bus transportation is provided to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs and the Water Parks.
A big advantage this hotel has over the All-Star Resorts is having easy access to the Skyliner. You can travel in style to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios by using this quick and scenic form of transportation.
Is Disney’s Pop Century Resort the one for you?
✔ Value resorts offer cheaper accommodations whilst still offering all the on-site Disney perks
✔ Good pools and dining choices available in the large food court
✔ Family-friendly and fun atmosphere with a bright, playful decor (and usually cheaper than it’s sister resort Art of Animation!)
Who Should Stay Here?
Families who want to stay in the Disney bubble but feel they are getting great value accommodation
Guests who are planning on spending a lot of time in the parks and less time in the resort itself - the skyliner access is a big bonus!
We think this would work well for multi-generation trips as grandparents may love the nostalgia this resort evokes
Adventures x Paradise Review
Disney's Pop Century is such a good option for a value resort with Skyliner access! Whilst the theming here is a bit more random than what you will find at Art of Animation (which is excellently overtly Disney themed throughout) this means this hotel is usually a bit less popular and therefore cheaper. The rooms have been recently renovated and look stunning. The addition of the Murphy bed as the second bed means it folds away and gives you more space during the day which most families will appreciate.
The food court is excellent and has such a great variety, with each family member able to order from a different kiosk meaning everyone gets the food they want, and pools here are a fun place to spend some down time.
TOP TIP - The tie-dye cheesecake is a real speciality here at the food court - people will travel to this resort just to purchase, so it’s not to be missed!
